The Quick-Ray product line is for use in the Histopathology laboratory to fabricate Tissue Micro-Arrays. The Quick-Ray set are principally used for research purposes.
  • The Quick-Ray set comes with one puncher, 4 tips of each size, and 1 recipient block of each size, and a base mold (to hold the recipient block while the tissue cores are transferred to it), guide for 1mm recipient block.
  • A tissue puncher with changeable tips of different diameters. Currently, 4 sizes are available: 1, 2, 3, and 5 mm in diameters. The puncher allows the user to retrieve cylindrical cores of tissues from donor tissues embedded in paraffin blocks. The cores are then distributed into a single use recipient block.
  • The patented recipient block is made of a special material that melts when heated at about 70oC for 30~60 minutes. The recipient block has pre-made, evenly spaced round orifices (wells) arranged in a square matrix (array). Four different recipient blocks are currently available:
    10 x12 wells of 1mm in diameter
    6 x10 wells of 2mm in diameter
    5 x 6 wells of 3mm in diameter
    4 x 5 wells of 5mm in diameter
